OSHA 1910.1200

OSHA labels are intended to be placed directly onto the container of hazardous materials.

  • 4 Colors to designate hazard
    • Blue – Health hazards
    • Red – Flammability hazards
    • Yellow – Instability
    • White – PPE requirements
  • Labels placed directly on containers
  • Designed for employees and handlers of hazardous substances

Signs should be placed at

  • Two primary entrances to the facility
  • Every entrance to the room/area
  • Every principal means of accessing the exterior storage area
  • Other locations AHJ specifies
