NMC Announces Partnership with N4 Systems to create RFID Lockout Tags
National Marker Company has formed a technology partnership with N4 Systems, a leading provider of integrated inspection, safety compliance and maintenance software to provide the first tagout management system.
NMC has developed machine-readable OSHA compliant lockout tags with RFID transmitters and bar codes, increasing the level of communication between maintenance personnel, safety managers, and production personnel. Using Field ID, N4 System’s online inspection and safety compliance management system, the transmitter will associate data such as date and time the tag was affixed, the name of the employee that applied that tag, the reason for locking out the device, the location of the tag when the tag is removed and by whom. This universal access to lockout information should reduce accidents and simplify the lockout / tagout process as well as optimize productivity and coordinate equipment downtime.
In conjunction, the Field ID system, we can revolutionize the way lockout processes are handled. Safety managers, facility managers and maintenance personnel can all be kept up to date on which machinery is out of service.
