Maryland Goes Smoke FREE

Effective February 1, 2008
The Maryland Clean Indoor Air Act of 2007 prohibits smoking in virtually all indoor workplaces in order to “preserve and improve the health, comfort, and environment of the people of Maryland by limiting exposure to environmental tobacco smoke. Maryland's Clean Indoor Air Act of 2007 requires employers to post “No Smoking” signs containing the words “NO SMOKING”, the international symbol for “No Smoking” or a combination of the two.


IL Goes Smoke FREE

Public Act 095–0017
Effective January 1, 2008

All Illinois public places and places of employment where smoking is prohibited must post at every entrance a conspicuous sign clearly stating that smoking is prohibited as well as contact information to file a complaint.
